I started learning violin at the age of seven and have continued enjoying learning.
I am a multi-instrumentalist and singer, playing four- and six-stringed instruments
and a bit of piano.
During school and college, I was a full time Chorister in Winchester Cathedral under
the choirmaster David Hill, played in school orchestras, chamber groups (playing
violin and viola), the Brighton Youth Orchestra and West Sussex String Ensemble as
well as solo / duet performances.
At the age of seventeen I attained Grade 8 (ABRSM) on the Violin.
During university years I started to study folk violin, gypsy jazz, improvisation
and orchestration and have continued with this since, alongside classical playing.
More recently I have performed at parties, exhibition openings, as a session Violinist
for both live work and recording sessions for Viv Albertine (Ex Slits), Muel, Lloyd
Williams, Darius Alexander, various commercial projects and at gigs with my bands.
At present I am working on a set of violin samples, composing for solo violin and
using my recording setup for recording, mixing and production, with two EPs soon
to be released and more in the pipeline, whilst I continue with my session and other
engagements, both with function bands Bubba Manouche and The Cracklin' Griffins and with solo artists, especially Ian Roland.
